IPL 2026, SRH vs LSG Highlights: Rishabh Pant’s Unbeaten 68 Seals Last-Over Victory

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) played really well and got their first win of the season. They beat Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Hyderabad by 5 wickets, with just one ball left.

The match started turning early when Mohammed Shami bowled an excellent spell. He took the wickets of Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma quickly. Then Prince Yadav bowled a superb delivery to dismiss Ishan Kishan. Because of this, SRH, who are known for attacking batting, struggled a lot and managed only 22 runs for 3 wickets in the powerplay.

LSG seal first win as Pant’s calm fifty and Markram’s quick start outshine SRH’s fightback in Hyderabad

However, the Orange Army fought. The game was never theirs, but they kept coming at LSG, making it tough, and eventually lost it only in the final over. The duo of Nitish Kumar Reddy and Heinrich Klaasen lead the fightback. The pair stitched together what was the highest ever 5th wicket partnership in the history of IPL and took the team to a defendable score.

The resurrection was orchestrated in two parts. First was the steadying of the ship. As the two batters took their time to set their eye in, SRH's score read 35/4 after 10 overs. Then, the acceleration began.

One clean strike after the other and the hosts eventually managed to finish with 156/9. Perhaps, they would have gotten more, if not for some excellent death bowling from Avesh Khan in particular.

Post that, LSG were always the favourites. They surged a little further ahead as Aiden Markram, who was promoted back to the top of the order today, scored a stylish 45 (27). But again, SRH fought back. The score read 77/1 before Markram holed out at long-off. Soon, LSG crashed to 109/4. But one man held his nerve.

It was not the most fluent knock from Rishabh Pant. He did not play those falling sweeps and scoops. He rather curbed his instincts, took the responsibility and ensured that SRH did not barge in through the door that had been left ajar.

He notched-up a slow half-century, but a responsible one and eventually hit the winning shot with one ball to spare. For the home team, Harsh Dubey impressed the most with figures of 2/18 off his 4 overs.
