IPL 2026: 3 KKR Players Who Could Be Traded Before the IPL Auction

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) were unable to hold onto their IPL title in 2025. Under Ajinkya Rahane, the team finished eighth in the points table with five wins and seven losses, with only Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings below them. KKR's IPL 2025 auction did not go as planned.

They spent INR 23.75 crore on Venkatesh Iyer, who managed to score just 142 runs in 11 matches. Spending this much on one player was probably why KKR was not able to acquire others who could have helped them. Here are 3 players that KKR could trade before the IPL 2026 auction:

3. Quinton de Kock

Quinton de Kock did not enjoy a good season with KKR. He played 8 matches with 152 runs and only one inning above fifty, which was 97 against Rajasthan Royals. His overall average in IPL 2025 was 21.71, with a strike rate of 129.91. Still, after a poor season, Quinton de Kock's experience may result in other teams wanting to trade for him. Organizations that want a good opener and wicketkeeper may explore getting him in a trade.

2. Anrich Nortje

Anrich Nortje, who suffered through injury issues once again, only played in 2 matches for KKR without being impactful. When he is fit, he bowls at a fast pace of about 145 kph, outpaces batsmen, and was great at getting wickets at important times. KKR might steer Nortje to another team and then take the gained trading money to replace him with a more impactful bowler.

1. Venkatesh Iyer

Venkatesh Iyer has been with KKR since 2021, where he helped the franchise make the finals in 2021 and see them crowned champions again in 2024, but for KKR to pay him INR 23.75 crore in 2025 was surprising.

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru also wanted Iyer at auction, and their Head Coach Andy Flower said they had plans for him. If Iyer goes to RCB or somewhere else, KKR will at least get back their INR 23.75 crore which can goon to buy better players next season.
