IPL 2025 Points Table: Updated Team Ranking, Standings, and Net Run Rate After RCB vs GT

IPL 2025 Points Table: Updated Team Ranking, Standings, and Net Run Rate After RCB vs GTIn the Indian Premier League (IPL), Gujarat Titans defeated Royal Challengers Bengaluru by eight wickets on Wednesday retaining their fourth position. RCB, who were leading the table prior to the match, slipped to third position as their Net Run Rate suffered. The only two teams that remain unbeaten in the tournament, Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings are now placed first and second, respectively.

Mohammed Siraj made two key breakthroughs during the powerplay before GT’s pace trio – Siraj (3/19), Arshad Khan (1/17) and Ishant Sharma (1/27) – completely dismantled RCB's top order in the first seven overs, restricting the hosts to 42/4. Liam Livingstone (54) delivered a fantastic fifty and Jitesh Sharma (33) joined him in a 52-run partnership that helped steady the innings. Tim David also contributed with a useful 32 off 18 balls. Royal Challengers Bengaluru eventually managed to put up 169 for eight against Gujarat Titans.

Virat Kohli once again couldn’t find his form, getting out in the second over after scoring just 7 runs. Without Tim David’s quick 32-run cameo, RCB might not have managed to post a competitive total for their bowlers to defend.

The Titans got off to a steady start as Gill and Sai Sudharsan built a 32-run opening partnership. Although Bhuvneshwar Kumar dismissed Gill in the fifth over, RCB couldn’t capitalize on that breakthrough. Shortly after, Sai joined Jos Buttler to forge a match-winning 75-run stand, with Sudharsan missing his fifty by just one run after Hazlewood claimed his wicket in the 13th over.

Ultimately, that marked the end of the road for the RCB bowlers. Buttler, remaining unbeaten on 73 off 39 balls, along with Sherfane Rutherford’s quick cameo of 30 off 18, ensured that GT clinched their second win of the season.
