IPL 2025 Playoffs Confirmed: PBKS vs RCB in Qualifier 1, GT Clash with MI in Eliminator

After 70 league matches, it is the turn of the IPL 2025 playoffs, which will start from May 29. The four teams that have reached the IPL 2025 playoffs are Punjab Kings, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Gujarat Titans, and Mumbai Indians.

The first qualifier match between Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore will be played on Thursday at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Punjab Kings topped the points table in the league stage. RCB defeated Lucknow by 6 wickets on Tuesday to secure second place.

Qualifier 1: Punjab Kings vs RCB, A Direct Ticket to the Final

Punjab Kings entered the first qualifier for the first time since 2014. At the same time, RCB, which performed brilliantly in the current season, is considered a strong contender for the title. In such a situation, there is every hope of an exciting match between the two teams.

The winner of the first qualifier between Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore will directly enter the final. The winning team will then prepare for the final on June 3. At the same time, the losing team will get another chance to reach the final. It will go to play the second qualifier.

Eliminator: Gujarat Titans vs Mumbai Indians

After this, the eliminator match will be played between Gujarat Titans and Mumbai Indians on May 30. This match will be a do-or-die situation for both teams. This is because the team that becomes the winner will go to the second qualifier, while the journey of the losing team will end. That is, the losing team will be out of the tournament.

Gujarat Titans performed well in the current IPL, but their performance declined in the last few matches. It will not be easy for them to overcome the five-time champion Mumbai Indians. So this match will also be thrilling.

Qualifier 2 and the Road to the Final

The team that loses in the first qualifier will clash with the winner of the eliminator in the second qualifier. Whoever wins this match will enter the final. The first and second qualifiers in the playoffs will be played at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, while the eliminator match will be played in Mullanpur.
