IPL 2025: MI Playing XI against GT | Gujarat Titans vs Mumbai Indians

Mumbai Indians, the five-time champions and one of the best teams in the IPL, once again make their way to the playoffs in a similar fashion to what they are known for. Mumbai Indians will now play the elimination match against Gujarat Titans on 30th May at Mullanpur Stadium in New Chandigarh. This article discusses their expected playing XI for the upcoming match.

Mumbai Indians, which started their season with multiple defeats, particularly in the first five matches, made a very strong comeback that very few teams in the history of the IPL have pulled off. They won their next five matches in a row and quickly surpassed most teams in the points table. It still surprises many fans that a team, which had just 2 points around halfway through the season, finally made its way to the playoffs. In the 14 matches played this season, Mumbai Indians won seven matches, finishing the group stage at number 4 with 15 points.

Mumbai Indians Predicted Playing XI Against Gujarat Titans

Top Order

 In the top order, Mumbai Indians will have English wicketkeeper-batter Jonny Bairstow, who will be replacing Ryan Rickelton, who performed well for the team this season. He will have Rohit Sharma as his opening partner, who is also in red-hot form since the team’s comeback. At the third spot, Team India captain Surya Kumar Yadav is expected to bat.

Middle Order

For the middle order, Mumbai will have young Bevon Jacobs in the 4th position, while Tikak Verma is likely to bat at no. 5. The young, exciting Indian wicketkeeper Naman Dheer is expected to bat at no. 6, along with captain Hardik Pandya batting in the lower middle order. 

Bowlers

In the bowling attack, the Mumbai Indians have one of the most lethal pace lineups, with Jasprit Bumrah leading the charge alongside Trent Boult and Deepak Chahar. For spin options, the team includes Mitchell Santhner and the experienced Karn Sharma.
