There is less than a week remaining for the eighteenth edition of the Indian Premier League, and fans are expecting some exciting matches in the upcoming season. After the IPL 2025 Mega Auction, there were significant changes in the majority of squads. After winning their third title, KKR also made drastic changes to their squad, bringing in new players after releasing some marquee players. This article will discuss KKR’s best-playing XI for the upcoming TATA IPL 2025.


The upcoming IPL season will begin on March 22 with the match between the defending champions, Kolkata Knight Riders, and Royal Challengers Bengaluru. The tournament will last over two months, concluding with the finals on May 25.

The star South African wicketkeeper, Quinton de Kock, will be seen playing for the Kolkata Knight Riders in the upcoming season. De Kock, known for giving an explosive start to the innings as a reliable opener, will be responsible for the same for LSG. He has been a consistent batter in the IPL despite playing for different franchises. In the 107 matches played, he scored 3,157 runs, with an average of 31.26 and a strike rate of 134.23. 

 

Sunil Narine

Sunil Narine, the well-known West Indian spinner turned all-rounder, will be one of the key players for the Kolkata Knight Riders in the upcoming season. After starting to open the innings for KKR, Narine's career has evolved beyond just a bowling role; he now acts as a proper all-rounder who can bat in the top order, giving an explosive start. It will be interesting to see whether Narine opens for KKR in the upcoming season, especially since the team's former mentor, Gautam Gambhir, has backed him to perform in that position,n and he has consistently delivered on that trust. He has played 176 matches and scored 1,534 runs with an average of 17.04 and a strike rate of 165.84. He has also taken 180 wickets with an economy of 6.73.


Ajinkya Rahane

Ajinkya Rahane, the well-known, experienced batter, will be playing for the Kolkata Knight Riders in the upcoming season and will also be leading the team, as KKR management has appointed him as captain for the season. Rahane, coming off a long IPL career, will be a crucial batter for Kolkata Knight Riders. His previous experience leading the Rajasthan Royals will also help him lead the defending champions. He has played 185 matches and scored 4,642 runs with an average of 30.14 and at a strike rate of 123.42. 

 

Venkatesh Iyer 

Venkatesh Iyer, the most expensive Indian player in the history of IPL, will be playing for the Kolkata Knight Riders again this year. After getting released by KKR for the auction, Iyer drew high bids from all the teams and finally went back to KKR, where they used the right-to-match card for him at a price of 23 crores. He is going to be one of the most important players for KKR in the upcoming season, both in the bat and ball. He has played 50 matches and scored 1326 runs with an average of 31.57 and a strike rate of 137.13. 


Rinku Singh

Rinku Singh, a talented fielder and batter known for his contributions down the order and adaptability, allowing him to change his batting style as needed, will be playing for KKR this season as well. He will be very handy for the team in the upcoming IPL 2025, given his floating ability in the batting order. He has played 45 matches, scoring 893 runs with an average of 30.79 and a strike rate of 143.34. 

 

Andre Russell

Andre Russell, one of the world's most destructive all-rounders, has proven himself multiple times with his performances for KKR over the last decade. He is expected to be the team's biggest match-winner in the upcoming season. Andre has demonstrated his ability to change the course of a match single-handedly numerous times. He has played 126 matches, scoring 2,484 runs with an average of 29.22 and a strike rate of 174.93. Additionally, he has taken 115 wickets with an economy rate of 9.36.


Chetan Sakariya

Chetan is a young, exciting Indian talent who will be playing for the team after Umran Malik got ruled out of IPL and the team signed him as his replacement..

 

Harshit Rana

The Kolkata Knight Riders hav retained the young and exciting Indian pacer Harshit Rana for the upcoming season. Harshit made his debut for India in the recent Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia. He has taken 25 wickets in the 21 matches he has played, with an economy of 15.40.

 

Vaibhav Arora

Vaibhav Arora will be another crucial pacer for KKR in the upcoming season, given Mitchell Starc's departure from the KKR he will bowling alongside Harshir Rana, Anrich Nortje. He has taken 19 wickets in the 20 matches he played, with an economy of 9.18.


Varun Chakravarthy

Varun Chakravarti, the mystery spinner and key player in India's recent victory in the Champions Trophy, will be one of the biggest game-changers for Kolkata Knight Riders in the upcoming season. The architect-turned-cricketer, now entering his 30s, has been monumental for KKR over the last few seasons, and the same is expected in the upcoming season. He has taken 83 wickets in the 71 matches he has played at an economy rate of 7.56.


Anrich Nortje

The South African Pacer will be the main overseas bowler for KKR this season and will be trying to fill the void of a match-winner like Mitchell Starc, while known for his own bowling capabilities it will interesting to see how he performs for a new performance as lead pacer in the playing XI. He has taken 60 wickets in the 46 matches he has played with an economy of 8.96.
