IPL 2025: Harry Brook Banned for Two Years Following New BCCI Regulation

IPL 2025: Harry Brook Banned for Two Years Following New BCCI RegulationsEngland batsman Harry Brook has been banned from playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for the next two years, The Indian Express reported on Thursday (March 13).

Earlier this week, Brook withdrew from his contract with the Delhi Capitals (DC), who signed him in last year’s auction for INR 6.25 Crore.

His decision to drop out put him at risk of a two-year ban from the IPL. This new rule was introduced before the 2025 mega-auction, based on feedback from all 10 teams, who were unhappy with last-minute withdrawals of several players, mostly English, in recent years.

“An official message has been sent to the ECB and Brook about BCCI banning him for two years as per its policy, which was shared with every player before they registered for the IPL auction last year. It’s a rule set by the board, and each player has to follow it,” a BCCI official confirmed to the newspaper.
