IPL 2025: Hardik Pandya's Captaincy Record

With just 10 days left for the IPL 2025, Hardik Pandya, the IPL 2022 season winner who led the Gujarat Giants in that season to the championship, will be one of the key captains to watch out for in the upcoming season. Hardik Pandya was subjected to strong fan criticism and even booing on the field in the last season of the Indian Premier League after he became the new captain of Mumbai Indians, replacing Rohit Sharma. Though Mumbai performed worst, ending the season in the last position as the team could only win four out of the 14 matches played. 

The upcoming 18th season of the Indian Premier League will start on 22nd March with the match between the defending Champions Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore. Mumbai, will play their first of the season against Chennai Super Kings in a key match on 23rd March.

The last season for the Mumbai Indians under the captaincy of Hardik Pandya was the worst in recent years. After taking over as captain of the team, Hardik Pandya faced strong criticism from the fans, which affected his performance on the field. Despite their best efforts, the Mumbai Indians could win only four matches in the season and finished in last position. With several new inclusions in the mega auction, the Mumbai Indians will try to start fresh and win their sixth title.

As a batter, Hardik Pandya has scored 2,525 runs in 128 innings across 137 matches. With a strike rate of 145.6, he has smashed 10 half-centuries. On the bowling side, Hardik has taken 64 wickets at an economy rate of 9.10.
