India Stun Pakistan Again to Remain Unbeaten and Lift Asia Cup 2025

India Stun Pakistan Again to Remain Unbeaten and Lift Asia Cup 2025India kept their Asia Cup crown after beating Pakistan by five wickets in the final. It was their third win over their biggest rivals in this tournament, and they stayed unbeaten all the way. Chasing 10 runs in the last over on Sunday, Tilak Varma turned hero by smashing a huge six off Haris Rauf’s second ball, which almost sealed the game. The Indian players and fans went wild with joy as the victory was confirmed.

Pakistan started well in the final with an 84-run opening stand between Sahibzada Farhan (57) and Fakhar Zaman (46), but they could not build on it and collapsed to 146 all out with five balls left. Their last nine wickets fell for just 33 runs in a shocking batting collapse, as Kuldeep Yadav (4/30) spun through the middle order. In reply, Tilak Varma held India’s chase together with a calm unbeaten 69, while Shivam Dube added 33 runs. India crossed the target with only two balls remaining at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

Pakistan began the final on a positive note, with Sahibzada Farhan taking charge against an Indian attack missing Hardik Pandya. They scored 45 runs in the Powerplay and looked comfortable as Farhan, supported by Fakhar Zaman, kept the scoreboard ticking. However, once Varun Chakravarthy removed Farhan in the 10th over, the momentum shifted. Kuldeep Yadav tightened the screws in the middle overs, while Axar Patel and Jasprit Bumrah added to the pressure with crucial wickets leading to Pakistan’s dramatic collapse.

India’s chase did not start well as Abhishek Sharma and captain Suryakumar Yadav fell early, leaving them struggling at 20 for three. Shubman Gill also departed quickly, but Tilak Varma and Sanju Samson steadied the innings with a 57-run stand. Samson had a slice of luck when Hussain Talat dropped him in the deep, but his knock ended on 24 when Abrar Ahmed struck. From there, Shivam Dube joined Varma, playing a vital hand before falling in the penultimate over, leaving Varma to see India through in a tense finish.

In a strange twist after the final in Dubai, India celebrated their Asia Cup win without the trophy on stage. Skipper Suryakumar Yadav revealed that the team chose not to collect it because they did not want to receive it from Pakistan Cricket Board chief Mohsin Naqvi.

The BCCI announced a cash reward of ₹21 crore for Team India and the support staff after Suryakumar Yadav’s side edged Pakistan by five wickets in a thrilling Asia Cup 2025 final to lift their ninth title. India’s captain Suryakumar Yadav made a heartfelt gesture after guiding his team to a thrilling five-wicket win over Pakistan in Dubai to lift their ninth Asia Cup title. At the post-match press conference, he shared that he’s going to donate all his match fees from the tournament to the Indian Army as a gesture of respect and gratitude.

BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia criticised the Pakistan Cricket Board for denying India the chance to celebrate with the Asia Cup trophy after their five-wicket win in Dubai. He called it unsportsmanlike, saying PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi took the trophy to his hotel room. The Indian team had to celebrate their win on stage without the winners’ medals or the trophy, as they didn’t receive them during the presentation.
