Jurel made full use of his opportunity at number 5 and smashed the pacers and spinners alike hitting 15 fours and 3 sixes adding 206 runs with Jadeja for the 6th wicket.

Getting his maiden Test hundred, Jurel nicked a tight delivery close to his off stump to the keeper with debutant Khary Pierre celebrating his maiden wicket in the format. Jadeja was next in line to bring up three figures and wield his sword, the southpaw hit 6 fours and 5 maximums and remains unbeaten alongside Washington Sundar (9* off 13).
India lost only 3 wickets in the entire day with Roston Chase (2/90), Warrican (1/102) and Pierre (1/91) tasting success on what was a good pitch for the spinners. West Indies find themselves in a perilous situation and will look to catchup in the Test match when they begin day 3 tomorrow.
