IND vs SA 2025: Temba Bavuma Named in South Africa A Squad for India Tour

[ Poll: Oypqk4Ll ]

The South Africa A squad for the tour of India was announced on October 16. Two separate squads have been selected for the series, consisting of two unofficial Tests and three ODIs. South Africa's Test captain, Temba Bavuma, will return to the field in the unofficial Test against India A. He is currently out of action due to a calf injury, which prevented him from touring Pakistan.

Bavuma will play in the second unofficial Test against India A. Under Bavuma's captaincy, South Africa won the WTC 2025 title by defeating Australia in the final. However, he was injured during the ODI series against England in September. Consequently, Bavuma was not part of the squad when the South African team began its campaign in the new WTC cycle.

The South Africa A team has been selected under the captaincy of Marcus Ackermann. Zubayr Hamza and Prenellan Subrayen have also been included in the squad, both of whom are currently playing in the Test series in Pakistan.

New faces have been given priority in the Proteas squad for the four-day series. However, several well-known names have been included for the ODI series. These include seamer Cody Yusuf, emerging pacer Kwena Mphaka, young batsmen L Pretorius and Bjorn Fortuin.
