IND vs ENG 3rd ODI Highlights: Shubman Gill's Century Powers India to Series Whitewash in Ahmedabad
India wrapped up a commanding 3-0 series whitewash against England with a resounding 142-run victory in the third and final ODI at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Shubman Gill starred with the bat, smashing his seventh ODI century, while the Indian bowlers made light work of England’s chase to seal the series in style.
Gill’s Masterclass Sets Up a Big Total
India bat first, as captain Rohit Sharma got out for just 1 run. Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli built a 116-run second-wicket partnership. Kohli scored 52 runs in 55 balls with seven fours and a six.
Gill was the star of India’s innings, scoring a brilliant 112 off 102 balls, hitting 12 fours and three sixes. Shreyas Iyer played quickly and scored 78 runs in 64 balls and KL Rahul scored 40 off 29. India managed to score 356 runs before getting all out in 50 overs.
England’s Chase Falters After Strong Start
England started strong as openers Phil Salt scored 23 runs in 21 balls and Ben Duckett scored 34 runs in 22 balls. They put on a quick 60-run partnership in just 6.2 overs. India’s bowlers struck back swiftly, turning the game on its head as wickets started tumbling at regular intervals.
Tom Banton scored 38 runs from 41 balls and Joe Root scored 24 runs in 29 balls. England's middle and lower order did not perform well.
India’s bowlers put on a strong show, with Harshit Rana, Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, and Arshdeep Singh taking two wickets each. Washington Sundar and Kuldeep Yadav took one wicket each. England all out for just 214 runs in 34.2 overs, giving India a 142-run victory.
