ICC Women’s World Cup 2025: Australia Women vs India Women – Updated Points Table

ICC Women’s World Cup 2025: Australia Women vs India Women – Updated Points Table

[ Poll: zL36Emyv ]

What a thrilling game it was in Vizag! Australia Women kept their cool to edge past India and extend their unbeaten streak in the Women’s World Cup to 13 matches. They also pulled off the highest run chase ever in a Women’s World Cup match to move to the top of the points table. For India, it’s their second straight loss while defending a total.

Earlier in the game, Australia won the toss and invited India to bat first in Vizag. Smriti Mandhan and Pratika Rawal added 155 runs for the opening wicket to give India a rocking start. However, once the openers got out, middle-order got starts but failed to capitalise and convert it into a big score.

Last 6 wickets fell for just 36 runs as the Women in Blue falied to bat out their quota of 50 overs. Annabel Sutherland picked up a maiden five-wicket haul in WODIs. Sophie Molineux picked up three while Megan Schutt and Ash Gardner bagged one apiece. In reply, Australia started well with both Phoebe Litchfield and Alyssa Healy scoring boundaries at will in the powerplay. The Aussies added 82 runs in the first 10 overs.
