ICC Test Team of the Year 2024: Celebrating 11 Outstanding Performers

Jasprit Bumrah is a top-rate cricket player from India, and because he's played so well in Test cricket, he was selected for the ICC Test Team of the Year. They told who is on the Men's Test Team of the Year on Friday, January 24, and it's a list of the best cricket players who were playing this year. Bumrah was playing better than ever last year and that's why he got selected. Two other players from India are also on this exceptionally wonderful team.

In 2024, Jasprit Bumrah was unstoppable, breaking records with his incredible performances. He ended the year as the highest wicket-taker in Test cricket, he took 71 wickets in just 13 matches (26 innings). His stunning average of 14.92 and five 5-wicket hauls showcased his dominance. Bumrah's brilliance not only propelled him to the top of the ICC Test rankings but also earned him the honor of achieving the highest-ever ratings by an Indian bowler a testament to his phenomenal skill and consistency throughout the year.

Yashasvi Jaiswal was selected for the team because he was proficient at batting this year. Jaiswal played 15 matches (29 innings), scoring 1478 runs. On average 55 runs each time he played. Jaiswal hit the ball unfathomably well and scored three hundred's and nine fifties. Second highest run scorer of the year.

Ravindra Jadeja, who is proficient at playing cricket, scored 527 runs when batting, and his average was 29.27. Not only batting, he also took 48 wickets, an average of 24. Jadeja played so well and he was the fifth-highest wicket-taker in test cricket, and he even did more good than Ishant Sharma and Zaheer Khan.

Pat Cummins retains captaincy for the second consecutive year

Australia's skipper, Pat Cummins, was entrusted with the captaincy for the second year running, following an impressive performance in 2024. Under his captaincy, Australia secured six wins out of nine matches. Cummins also shone individually, emerging as the team's leading wicket-taker with 37 wickets at an average of 24.02. His efforts were instrumental in guiding Australia to series victories over top teams like Pakistan, New Zealand, and India.

Joe Root and Harry Brook from England did very well at batting this year, so they were selected for test team of the year. Ben Duckett gets to begin the game batting first because he is talented. Jamie Smith had a very good first year, so he is the one wicketkeeper-batsman for the test team of the year. Kamindu Mendis is the only player from Sri Lanka who got selected to be on the team. Also, Kane Williamson and Matt Henry from New Zealand got selected into the eleven-player team because they played well.
