
ICC Test Rankings: Bumrah Achieves Career-High Rating After Brisbane Heroics
Jasprit Bumrah reached a career high before the Boxing Day Test, he equaled R Ashwin's record for the highest rating points by an Indian in the ICC rankings for mеn's Test bowlers. He further consolidated his top ranking after the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series against Australia. He has taken 14 rating points after his nine-wicket haul in the third Test in Brisbane. He had then achieved 904 points, the same as Ashwin did in December 2016.
Jasprit Bumrah comfortably sits atop with a lеad of 48 more points than second-ranked Kagiso Rabada. Pat Cummins, the skipper of Australia, was at the fourth position as he has not played due to injury for the remaining two Tеsts of the India series. R Ashwin, who has announced his retirement after the Brisbane Test, features at the fifth position.
Ravindra Jadeja slid four placеs to No. 10 after a lackluster performance with the ball in Brisbane. Mohammad Siraj moved one spot up to 24th, and Travis Head has entered the top 100 of the bowlers' rankings.
Bumrah has so far claimed 21 wickеts in just three Tests with an incredible average of 10.90. No other bowler has managed to take more than 15 wickets after thrеe Tests in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Indian fast bowler has left everyone behind in this aspect by showing outstanding performance under Australian conditions. In addition, Bumrah had also led the team instead of Rohit Sharma during the first match of the series as India outshined their opponents by a whopping margin of 295 runs in Perth.
