ICC ODI Rankings: Rohit Climbs, Kohli Drops, but Shubman Gill Remains on Top

ICC ODI Rankings: Rohit Climbs, Kohli Drops, but Shubman Gill Remains on Top
The latest ICC ODI batting rankings are out after a great Champions Trophy 2025. Indian captain Rohit Sharma has moved up two spots to become the world’s third-best batter in 50-over cricket. This means Virat Kohli, who was fourth, is now in fifth place. Kohli only managed to score one run in the Champions Trophy final against New Zealand.

Shubman Gill remains the top-ranked batter after taking the number one spot during the white-ball home series against England earlier this year. He has also won the ICC Player of the Month award.

Five Indian batters finished in the top 15 run-scorers for the ICC Champions Trophy. Of particular interest, Shreyas Iyer, who had 243 runs (India's highest) to his name, remained at eighth position. Virat Kohli, who played some magnificent innings and had 218 runs in the tournament under his belt, is now positioned fifth with 736 rating points. Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma did not get much runs prior to the final but left the best for the last. In the final match of the tournament, he scored 76 runs and was awarded the Player of the Match.

One of the largest jumps in the new ODI rankings was that of Rachin Ravindra. One of the brightest players of today, his great batting performance made him win the Player of the Tournament. Ravindra moved from 28th to 14th with 643 rating points. With two centuries during the tournament, one in the semi-final as well, he drew big accolades. At only 25, the left-hander is already New Zealand's record holder of the most ICC hundreds.
