Hyderabad pacer Mohammad Ali penalized over verbal argument with Chapman

Hyderabad pacer Mohammad Ali penalized over verbal argument with ChapmanThe Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has reprimanded Hyderabad Kingsmen pacer Mohammad Ali for violation of the PSL Code of Conduct during Eliminator 2.

Ali has been fined 10 per cent of his match fee for violating Article 2.21 of the PSL Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to bringing the game into disrepute.

Verbal argument with Chapman

The fine was imposed after Ali got into a verbal spat with Islamabad United batter Mark Chapman. The incident occurred during the 16th over of the chase with Chapman and Faheem Ashraf in the middle. Ali got into a heated argument with the New Zealand batter and was eventually taken away by fellow Hyderabad pacer Hunain Shah.

The charge was filed by on-field umpires Ahsan Raza and Shahid Saikat, who had been present during the spat, and match referee Roshan Mahnama enforced the penalty. According to the PCB, the Hyderabad pacer accepted the offence, ending the need for a formal hearing.

Hyderabad’s come-from-behind victory

While Ali had an off day with the ball, as he conceded 44 runs in four wicketless overs, Hyderabad Kingsmen ended the night on a high.

They scripted a win for the ages over Islamabad United as they stormed into the final. The game ended on the last ball with Hunain Shah defending six in the final over. Kingsmen will now play Peshawar Zalmi in the final on May 3 at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.
