Gus Atkinson became the First Bowler to took a Hat-Trick at Basin Reserve
England's 26-year-old pacer, who plays for Surrey in domestic cricket, registered his first international hat trick at Basin Reserve, Wellington, against hosts New Zealand. Atkinson sent back the last three batters of the New Zealand batting lineup in just 5 minutes. Atkinson took a total of 4 wickets in the innings and overall five wickets in the match and became the 14th Enland'sbowler to get a hat-trick.
During day 2 of the second test match, in the first session, New Zealand's batting lineup was struggling as they had just scored 125 runs in the 35 overs, losing 7 of their betters; on the pitch Glen Philips and Nathan Smith were batting at 16 and 14 respectively, on the third ball of the 35th over, Atkinson bowled and ball the directly hit the middle stump, sending Nathan Smith back to pavilion, this wicket broke the little partnership between Philips and Smith.
After Smith's dismissal, Matt Henry came to bat, Atkinson bowled at the 4th 5th stump line, and the ball took the pet's age and got into the hands of Ben Duckett, who was at the gully.

After taking the wickets from Smith and Henry, Atkinson was on a hat-trick. New Zealand pacer Tim Southe, who got some balls out of the park, came to bat, and with the crowd cheering, Atkinson bowled into the stumps. The ball hit Southee's pad; the English team appealed to the umpire, and he gave out.
During the match, England was on top of New Zealand from the start of the game; after scoring 280 in the first inning, England finished New Zealand's inning in just 125 runs, gaining a valuable lead of 155 runs after then this coded a massive total of 427 runs, setting a humongous target of 583.
Aside from Gus Atkinson, Other bowlers' contributions can't be ignored. Bryndon Carse, who took a ten-wicket haul in the last test match, took four wickets in the first and two in the second. Whereas Chris Woakes took three wickets during the match, and Ben Stokes took four wickets during the match.
