The Duleep Trophy 2025 will be held from August 28 to September 11, 2025. The tournament is being organized by the BCCI. Teams from different zones North, South, East, West, Central, and North East will take part. All the matches will be played in Bengaluru. The competition serves as a vital platform for emerging and established domestic cricket talent as the six zones will battle for supremacy.back icon

West Zone squad:

West Zone has named a strong 15-member squad for the upcoming domestic season. The team will be captained by experienced Mumbai all-rounder Shardul Thakur. Interestingly, senior players Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara have not been included, showing a clear shift towards younger players and those in good recent form. West Zone seems focused on building a fresh, competitive side for a strong campaign ahead.

The team includes the exciting Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal, the stylish Shreyas Iyer, and the dependable Sarfaraz Khan, showing just how strong Mumbai’s cricket talent really is. Maharashtra’s Ruturaj Gaikwad is also part of the squad after a solid performance in the recent IPL.

In a heartening move, 14-year-old Vaihav Suryavanshi has also been included in the list of standby players.

The 16-member squad includes well-known players like Tanmay Agarwal, Devdutt Padikkal, Mohit Kale, Salman Nizar, Narayan Jagadeesan, R. Sai Kishore, and Vyshak Vijaykumar. Four players from Kerala have made it into the team, a reward for their strong performance in the last Ranji Trophy season. The tournament begins on August 28 in Bengaluru and will follow the usual zonal format, with South Zone getting a direct entry into the semifinals.
