CSK to Release 5 Players Including Sam Curran and Devon Conway Ahead of IPL 2026 Auction: Reports

The IPL 2026 auction is likely to be held in the second or third week of December. It seems that it is possible to hold it from December 13-15. Cricbuzz, which is currently in talks with the BCCI, stated in its article. The IPL Governing Council has not yet fixed the schedule for IPL 2026. With the auction time approaching, Chennai Super Kings (CSK), who finished last in IPL 2025, seem to have taken tough decisions before the 2026 auction.

Five-time champions Chennai Super Kings are reportedly looking to release 5 players to rebuild their team. Deepak Hooda is at the forefront of the list of players to be released by Chennai. Vijay Shankar, Rahul Tripathi, Sam Curran, and Devon Conway are also among them. All of them failed miserably in IPL 2025. Curran and Conway, who were bought at a huge price, were a complete disappointment.

The team already has good openers like Rachin Ravinda and Ayush Matre. With Ruturaj Gaikwad returning, it will be difficult for Conway to continue. The Chennai Super Kings franchise management is reportedly making strong efforts to sign Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson.

If Sanju comes into the team, there are chances that he will get the captaincy. Players like T Natarajan, Mitchell Starc, Akash Deep, Mayank Yadav, and David Miller are good options for Chennai. MS Dhoni, Rachin Ravinda, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ayush Matre, Sheikh Rashid, Rachin Ravindra, Anshul Kamboj, Mukesh Chaudhary, and Matisha Pathirana are likely to continue in Chennai.
