Big Bash League 2024-25: Hobart Hurricanes vs Perth Scorchers, 7th Match Preview

Big Bash League 2024-25: Hobart Hurricanes vs Perth Scorchers, 7th Match Preview

The 7th match of Big Bash League 2024-25 will see Hobart Hurricanes play their first home game of the season against Perth Scorchers. Hurricanes lost their first game to Melbourne Renegades and will look to improve. Scorchers won their first game against Melbourne Stars and will look to continue the good form.

Perth Scorchers have a good record against Hurricanes, winning 4 out of last 5 games. Scorchers will be confident but Hurricanes need to step up, especially with the bat, after a poor show in their last game.

Nathan Ellis and his team will want to forget their last game where they were bowled out for 74 and lost by 6 wickets. Ellis will hope for a better show from top and middle order this time.

Matthew Wade and Mitchell Owen didn’t score much in the last game so they will need to get a good start. Shai Hope and Ben McDermott, both experienced players will look to add runs in the middle order along with Nikhil Chaudhary. Tim David, Chris Jordan, and Nathan Ellis will also need to do well for the team to win.

Hurricanes bowlers will need to do better. Riley Meredith and Billy Stanlake will need to get early wickets while Nathan Ellis and Chris Jordan will be important in the middle overs. Waqar Salamkheil and Chaudhary will be extra bowling options.

Perth Scorchers led by Ashton Turner will be confident after their win over Melbourne Stars. Their bowlers did well in the last game and Turner will want them to continue their good record against Hurricanes.

Finn Allen and Keaton Jennings didn’t score much in the last game so they will look for a good start. Cooper Connolly who played a key role in the last game will look to add more runs with help from Matthew Hurst and Turner. Nick Hobson and Ashton Agar will add more depth to the batting.

Scorchers’ bowlers did well last time with the new ball causing trouble. Jhye Richardson and Jason Behrendorff will look for early wickets while Andrew Tye one of the best T20 bowlers will look to continue his good form with Lance Morris in the middle overs. Connolly, Turner and Agar will be the variations.
