Babar Azam captains PCB’s PSL 2026 Team of the Tournament

Babar Azam captains PCB’s PSL 2026 Team of the TournamentPakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced its Team of the Tournament for PSL 2026. The team features three players from Peshawar Zalmi, including the captain Babar Azam, three from Hyderabad Kingsmen, two each from Lahore Qalandars and Islamabad United, and one each from Multan Sultans and Quetta Gladiators.

Babar Azam, who led Peshawar Zalmi to the title, has been named as the team’s captain, with fellow batter Kusal Mendis, who scored 550 runs, the second-highest in the tournament, and Sufyan Muqeem, the highest wicket-taker of the season, joining him. Alongside him, Shadab Khan, Islamabad’s captain and the league’s third-highest wicket-taker, forms the spin attack.

Fakhar and Shaheen part of the team

Lahore Qalandars’ Fakhar Zaman has been slotted in as an opener in the team along with Babar. His fellow Qalandars player and the side's captain, Shaheen Shah Afridi, will form the pace attack along with Hyderabad Kingsmen’s Hunain Shah, who grabbed 17 wickets this season, and Islamabad’s Richard Gleeson.

Besides Hunain, the finalists Hyderabad also have two more entries as Usman Khan, the tournament’s third-highest run-scorer, and Hassan Khan are part of the team’s middle order.

Multan Sultans’ Shan Masood and Quetta Gladiators’ Hassan Nawaz are the only players from their respective teams. Shan scored 367 runs at an average of 45.87 while striking at 158.18.
