Asia Cup 2025: Complete List of On-Field Umpires, TV Umpires, Fourth Umpires and Match Referees

The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has announced that Indian umpires Rohan Pandit and Virender Sharma will be part of the match officials for the Asia Cup 2025, starting Tuesday. The tournament’s opening game will see Afghanistan take on Hong Kong China in a Group B match at the Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi. Experienced match referees Richie Richardson and Andy Pycroft will lead the team of match officials for the event.

The umpires for the tournament are Ahmad Pakteen (Afghanistan), Asif Yaqoob (Pakistan), Faisal Afridi (Pakistan), Gazi Sohel (Bangladesh), Izatullah Safi (Afghanistan), Masudur Rahman (Bangladesh), Raveendra Wimalasiri (Sri Lanka), Rohan Pandit (India), Ruchira Palliyaguruge (Sri Lanka) and Virender Sharma (India).

India will kick off their Group A campaign against the UAE at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on September 10. A few days later, they will take on Pakistan at the same venue on September 14 before facing Oman in Abu Dhabi at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium on September 19.

This 17th Asia Cup will be India’s first T20I series since they beat England 4-1 at home in January. The tournament is also a key practice ahead of the T20 World Cup next year in India and Sri Lanka, where India will be defending champions. This will be the first big tournament for India without senior players Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Both retired from T20I cricket after winning last year’s World Cup and from Test cricket before the England tour. Now, they will only play in ODI matches.
