Arundhati Reddy Misses Out as India Welcomes Fresh Talent for West Indies Tour

Arundhati Reddy, India's fast bowler, won't be playing in the white-ball squads against the West Indies series, which was unexpected. Reddy was truly one of the best, tying as India's top wicket-taker in the T20 World Cup and doing very well with a 4-for-26 in the third ODI against Australia. Yet, they want her to play domestic cricket instead, specifically in the Senior Women's One-Day Trophy for Hyderabad.
Key Changes in the Squad
Nandini Kashyap and Raghvi Bist are getting their first shot at playing T20Is. A whopping 117 not out against Pondicherry made Kashyap famous, while Bist caught people's eye with a quick 71 off 51 balls during the T20 Challenger Trophy final; their amazing plays this season made sure the selectors noticed them.
ODI Debutants in the squad: Pratika Rawal, known for her big scores, including a 161* in 2021, and left-arm spinner Tanuja Kanwar, who has prior international experience, joined the squad to make their debut against West Indies.
Missing Stars in squad: Shafali, Radha, and Injured Trio
- Shafali Verma: The dynamic opener will also miss this series, having already been dropped for the ODIs against Australia.
- Radha Yadav: Surprisingly omitted from the ODI squad despite her strong form against New Zealand earlier this year.
- Injuries: Yastika Bhatia, Shreyanka Patil, and Priya Punia remain unavailable due to injury concerns.
Players to Watch in Both Squads
- Priya Mishra, Uma Chetry, Saima Thakor, Minnu Mani, and Titas Sadhu are part of both squads. These players have shown their talent and dependability in different formats.
