Are Aaron Hardie and Michael Bracewell set to miss PSL 11?
All-rounders Aaron Hardie and Michael Bracewell, who were roped in by Peshawar Zalmi for the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) season, have been confirmed to be available for the full season.
There were reports that several foreign players from the franchise, including Nahid Rana and Kusal Mendis, besides the duo, might pull out of the league. However, Zalmi’s owner, Javed Afridi, confirmed all the franchise’s foreign picks for the season.
Afridi, while answering a Q&A session on Instagram, said the players were available for the entire season, debunking speculation.
Zalmi’s foreign picks
Hardie was directly signed by Peshawar ahead of the auction, after Afghanistan’s Rahmanullah Gurbaz pulled out of the league. Mendis (PKR 42 million), Bracewell (PKR 42 million), and Rana (PKR 6 million) were bought at the auction.
Additionally, Zalmi also roped in Bangladesh pacer Shoriful Islam following the auction to bolster their pace attack after English pacer Tymal Mills, who was also signed post-auction, pulled out.
James Vince is one of Peshawar’s six overseas picks, as the franchise snapped him up at the auction for PKR 30 million.
Peshawar are also reportedly in talks with Bangladesh batter Tanzid Hasan to rope him in as their seventh and final foreign pick. However, NOC issues in Bangladesh might prevent the deal from materialising.
