AFG vs BAN: Ibrahim Zadran Fined 15% of Match Fee for ICC Code Breach After Missing Century

Afghanistan's team performed brilliantly in the recently concluded three-match ODI series against Bangladesh, securing a clean sweep. Following the third ODI, Afghan opener Ibrahim Zadran was sanctioned by the ICC for breaching Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct for his actions.

Afghan opening batsman Ibrahim Zadran has been found guilty of violating Article 2.2 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to the misuse of cricket equipment or clothing, ground equipment, or fixtures and fittings during international matches. Zadran has been fined 15 percent of his match fee and has also been awarded one demerit point for this violation.

During the third ODI against Bangladesh, after being dismissed in the 37th over of the innings, Ibrahim Zadran angrily damaged some equipment near the team area while walking towards the dressing room. Zadran missed his century by just five runs in the third ODI.

In the third ODI against Bangladesh, played at the Abu Dhabi ground, Afghanistan batted first and scored 293 runs for the loss of nine wickets in 50 overs. Ibrahim Zadran's innings saw him score 95 runs off 111 balls, hitting seven fours and two sixes. Zadran was deeply disappointed after missing his century by just five runs. Afghanistan won the match by 200 runs, dismissing Bangladesh for just 93 runs.
