Cricket Q&A

Hey mate, great question!

This is part of the Tata Green Dot Ball initiative by BCCI and Tata. For every dot ball bowled in the IPL, they commit to planting a certain number of trees.

The trees aren't all planted in one single spot. Instead, they're distributed across several states in India (like Kerala, Assam, Karnataka, Gujarat, etc.) in partnership with local forest departments and NGOs.

Planting usually happens in batches, mostly after the season or during suitable seasons (like monsoon), not immediately on the same day. So far, they've claimed to have planted over 400,000 trees since the initiative started in 2023.

It's a cool eco-friendly idea, though a lot of people also want more transparency on exact locations and survival rates.
