Axar Rajeshbhai Patel is an Indian left-handed all-rounder, known for his economical slow left-arm orthodox spin and powerful lower-order batting, representing India across formats, Gujarat domestically, and captaining Delhi Capitals (DC) in the IPL, a team he's been with since 2019 and for whom he took an IPL hat-trick in 2016; he was a key member of India's victorious 2024 T20 World Cup & 2025 Champions Trophy squads, earning awards like the BCCI U-19 Cricketer of the Year 2014 and IPL Emerging Player.

When Dhoni had difficulty taking his name from behind the stumps, he started calling him Bapu.
Patel was signed up by the IPL franchise Mumbai Indians in 2013 but did not get a chance to play until he was released. He was then picked up by Kings XI Punjab in 2014 and had an impressive season with 17 wickets.
Initially, he intended to be a mechanical engineer but now he is one of the best Indian all-rounders.
He married Meha Patel on 26 January 2023 in Vadodara, Gujarat.
She was born and brought up in Nadiad, Gujarat.
