[ Poll: aLoEr6wr ]

South Africa showed their strength in Test cricket by beating India at home by 408 runs. With Temba Bavuma as captain, they won the two-match series 2–0. With regular skipper Shubman Gill ruled out of this Test due to injury, his deputy Rishabh Pant took over the reigns flipping the coin in SA's favor.

Batting first, South Africa posted 489 on the back of some brilliant knocks with Senuran Muthusamy (109) and Marco Jansen (93) standing out. Kuldeep Yadav stood out with the ball capturing 4 wickets and then faced 134 deliveries against a strong Protean bowling attack while the Indian batting order crumbled to 122/7 and folded for 201. Yashasvi Jaiswal top scored with 58 whereas Washington Sundar who was demoted from number 3 to 8 in this Test scoring an important 48.

South Africa Crush India 2–0 to Claim Historic Test Series Win

He missed out on a well deserved ton but did an even better job with the ball. Marco Jansen picked up 6/48 and off spinner Simon Harmer continued his good form with 3/64 in the first innings. Tristan Stubbs and Tony de Zorzi then shone for South Africa in their 2nd batting innings adding 101 runs for the 4th wicket. Stubbs missed out on his century by 6 runs and de Zorzi missed out on a half century by a soiltary run, Ravindra Jadeja picked up 4 wickets and then was the only batter who looked in some amount of control top scoring with 54 in 87 balls on the final day.

The rest of the order crumbled against good bowling and scoreboard pressure chasing an improbable total of 549 runs. Sai Sudharsan at number 3 faced 139 deliveries scoring just 14 runs but fell on the first delivery he faced after tea.

Sundar joining Jadeja at the crease in the 48th over was then dismissed in the 61st as Harmer ran through the Indian batting order once again in a record breaking spell claiming 6/37. Keshav Maharaj claimed the last 2 wickets getting Jadeja stumped on the 1st ball and then removing Mohammed Siraj on the 5th delivery - Jansen claiming a stunning catch on the long on boundary.

This is only the second time South Africa have whitewashed a Test series against India, the previous instance being a 2–0 win in 2000. That was also the last time South Africa won a Test series in India, and after 25 years, they have finally managed to win another series on Indian soil.
