Top 5 Players Who Can Win Orange Cap in IPL 2026

Top 5 Players Who Can Win Orange Cap in IPL 2026

[ Poll: BL89loZQ ]

The IPL 2026 starts on March 28. Recent seasons have seen high scores and great batting, and this year new players could compete for the Orange Cap.

Ishan Kishan - Sunrisers Hyderabad

2026 has been a comeback year for Ishan Kishan. He scored 517 runs in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2025 and helped Jharkhand win the title. This earned him a return to the Indian team, where he scored 317 runs in the 2026 T20 World Cup. Batting at number 3, Kishan plays a key role for Sunrisers Hyderabad. After an inconsistent 2025 season, he now has a chance to perform well and stay consistent this year.

Virat Kohli - Royal Challengers Bengaluru

You can’t make an Orange Cap list without Virat Kohli. He scored 657 runs in RCB’s title-winning season and remains the IPL’s highest run-scorer with 8661 runs. His record of 973 runs in 2016 is still unbeaten. If RCB want to defend their title, Kohli will need to be at his bestand he could even win the Orange Cap again.

Sanju Samson - Chennai Super Kings

Sanju Samson, who is from Kerala, may feel at home playing for CSK in nearby Tamil Nadu. He was traded from Rajasthan Royals to CSK before IPL 2026. After leading RR in past seasons, Samson can now play more freely and focus on his batting this year.

Aiden Markram - Lucknow Super Giants

Aiden Markram comes into the IPL in great form after scoring 286 runs in the T20 World Cup at a strong strike rate. He showed he can both attack and build an innings, including an unbeaten 86 against New Zealand. For LSG, he could be the key batter at the top this season.

Yashasvi Jaiswal - Rajasthan Royals

With Sanju Samson gone, Yashasvi Jaiswal will lead Rajasthan Royals’ batting. After scoring 559 runs last season, he now has more responsibility and a bigger role. This could be his chance to shine and even compete for the Orange Cap.
