T20 World Cup 2026: Match Officials Named, Two Each from Pakistan and Bangladesh Make the Cut
The ICC has announced the Match Referees and Umpires for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 Group Stage matches to be held in India and Sri Lanka from 7th February 2022. There are 6 Match Referees and 24 Umpires; the names of Match Referees and Umpires are listed below.
Kumar Dharmasena and Wayne Knights will be Umpires for the first Game (Pakistan vs Netherlands) to be played in Colombo. The Match Referees will be announced later for Super 8 and Knockout Matches.
In the second day match, between Scotland and the West Indies, Nitin Menon and Sam Nogajski will be the on-field officials; and for the game between India and another Group A team, Rod Tucker and Paul Reiffel will be on the field. Four Indians have been selected amongst the group stage officials.
There were four more umpires from India, Javagal Srinath, Nitin Menon, Jayaraman Madanagopal, and KNA Padmanabhan. There will also be two officials from Pakistan, Asif Yaqoob and Ahsan Raza. Bangladesh will be represented by Sharfuddoula Ibne Shahid and Gazi Sohel.
