Sanjiv Goenka’s cryptic post fuels Rishabh Pant tension rumours ahead of IPL 2026

Sanjiv Goenka, the owner of Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), surprised fans with a mysterious post on X.
Sharing his criteria for judging anyone, Goenka wrote that he measures people by results, not by the hours they sit without delivering. "I measure people by the results they deliver, not by the hours they sit behind a desk without delivering. Output is the only honest metric," he wrote on X.

Goenka's post has gone viral on X and has been viewed by nearly 2 lakh users. Nearly 300 users have reposted it. Goenka is actively involved in running LSG and attends every fixture. He made a record bid of Rs 7090 crore to buy LSG. Goenka-owned LSG made their IPL debut in 2022 and have been a regular in IPL since then.
Lucknow Super Giants have had mixed performances since they started. Under KL Rahul, they reached the playoffs in IPL 2022 but were knocked out in the Eliminator. They again reached the playoffs in IPL 2023, but once more lost in the Eliminator.
During that season, Krunal Pandya captained the team in the second half. Rahul-led LSG failed to clear the league stage of IPL 2024. The management released Rahul before the IPL 2025 mega-auction. LSG made a record bid of Rs 27 crore for Rishabh Pant to make him the costliest player in the league's history. Pant was bestowed with the captaincy.
