Sadia Iqbal back at top spot in ICC Women’s T20I rankings
Pakistan left-arm spinner, Sadia Iqbal, has reclaimed the top spot in the ICC Women’s T20I rankings for the third time in her career. Sadia dethroned Australia’s Annabel Sutherland in first place and India’s Deepti Sharma in second place to top the rankings.
She had previously held the top spot during the ICC Women's T20 World Cup in 2024 and once in May 2025.
Sadia takes five wickets against SA
Her jump of two spots came after her brilliant performances against South Africa Women in the recently concluded T20I series. The spinner grabbed five wickets across three games, with an average of 12.60 and an economy rate of 5.81.
Sadia was especially clinical in the third T20I, taking three wickets, including two in the third over when she dismissed Lara Goodall and Dane van Niekerk, further denting the hosts’ chances. She wrapped up the South Africa innings by sending back Nonkululeko Mlaba, helping Pakistan secure a consolation win.
The 30-year-old ended as the series’ joint-highest wicket-taker alongside Ayabonga Khaka.
Dar, Sandhu among top ten
In addition, left-arm spinner Nashra Sandhu entered the top ten of the Women’s T20I bowlers after moving up one place. Pakistan captain Fatima Sana is now the sixth-ranked T20I all-rounder following her tally of 146 runs and two wickets across the three T20Is against South Africa.
