Rajasthan Royals Look at Jaipur or Pune, RCB Explore Other Cities for Home Matches

Rajasthan Royals may be playing their home games in Jaipur. Yet, this decision remains undecided. However, talks are completely underway as proposed. Yet, if Jaipur is not prepared to hold the matches, then Pune will be the next venue.

Jaipur, Pune, and Other Cities in Focus for RR and RCB Home Venues

Though the final decision has not been made by the Board of Control for Cricket in India, the team has been asked to try their best to stay in Jaipur. The Rajasthan government would like the team to play the match in their state.

The problem at hand is the Sawai Mansingh Stadium. The facilities are not yet ready. The team wants all this to be done even before the season commences. The season will take place between March 26 and May 31. This means that 45 days are available. If they remain within Jaipur, four home games might be played. The other three games would be played in Guwahati. Previously, the team had also held talks with the Maharashtra Cricket Association about fixtures in Pune, in case Jaipur was not ready.

Mumbai Indians stated that they did not say no to Royal Challengers Bengaluru. RCB is seeking an alternative to play. Mumbai Indians advised the RCB management to explore other cities before looking for a place like the DY Patil Stadium. Places like Pune, Indore, Raipur, Visakhapatnam, Cuttack, etc., have hosted IPL games earlier as well. Thiruvananthapuram could also be an option.

Since the RCB captain Rajat Patidar is from Indore, Holkar Stadium can be used. There is still a doubt about the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. Therefore, RCB sought permission from Mumbai Indians to use DY Patil Stadium.

Mumbai Indians opine that Mumbai need not be chosen first. RCB have already planned some games for Raipur. The Board of Control for Cricket in India has not yet mentioned the schedule for IPL. It might be announced after the dates for state elections are fixed.
