"No, I’m Not Pregnant:" Healy Responds to Rumors Following Starc’s Champions Trophy Absence
The left-arm pacer, Mitchell Starc, is now the third key fast bowler to be ruled out of Australia's squad, joining Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood, along with all-rounders Mitch Marsh and Marcus Stoinis. While Cummins, Hazlewood, and Marsh were sidelined from the 2025 Champions Trophy, Stoinis surprised everyone by announcing his ODI retirement despite already being named in the squad.
Mitchell Starc pulling out of the tournament for 'personal reasons' was yet another blow for Australia. National selector George Bailey made sure to let everyone know that the board gave its complete support to Starc's decision to withdraw from the team.
"We understand and respect Mitch’s decision. Mitch is deeply respected for his commitment to international cricket and the priority he places on performing for Australia. His well-documented ability to play through pain and adversity, as well as forgoing opportunities in other parts of his career to put his country first should be applauded. His loss is of course a blow for the Champions Trophy campaign but does provide an opportunity for someone else to make a mark on the tournament." George Bailey said.
Healy Shuts Down Pregnancy Rumors Amid Speculation
After Starc’s withdrawal was announced, rumors started circulating that his wife, Alyssa Healy, the captain of Australia’s women’s team, might be pregnant. However, Alyssa Healy shut down the rumors in a recent episode of the Willow Talk podcast, reassuring everyone that she and Starc are doing just fine.
" I’m fine. Hadds (Brad Haddin) suggested maybe I was pregnant, but I can guarantee that I’m not. Yeah, we’re fine,” Alyssa Healy said.
“Don’t look at me; I don’t know anything about it. I haven’t asked him about it yet. He’s fine, everyone. I am fine, more importantly. Yeah, we are fine. Move on.” Healy added.
Healy has also been ruled out of the WPL 2025 due to an injury. Fans speculated about a possible pregnancy, drawing parallels to past instances like Virat Kohli stepping away before the birth of his child. Adding to the buzz, the couple recently made headlines for purchasing a luxurious $24 million Terrey Hills estate, Charlotte Park.
