PSL 2026: Peshawar Zalmi Beat Lahore Qalandars by 76 Runs, Babar Azam’s Team Goes Top

Lahore Qalandars were all out for just 97 while chasing 174 against Peshawar Zalmi. Zalmi won the match by 76 runs and improved their net run rate a lot. Lahore won the toss and chose to bowl first. Zalmi started well, as Mohammad Haris played quick shots, hitting 2 fours and 1 six to score 18 runs from just 10 balls.

After his dismissal, Babar Azam and Kusal Mendis came in the crease. Their partnership flourished again as they added 109 runs for the second wicket. Azam once again played the anchor's role and Mendis went hammer and tongs against the bowlers.

Zalmi dominate with bat and ball as Lahore collapse for 97 in one-sided PSL 2026 clas

Kusal Mendis once again top scored for the Zalmi. He followed his hundred in the last match with a 48-ball 74, hitting 5 fours and 4 sixes. Babar Azam got 43 beside his name but took 40 balls to go there. After their dismissal, a cameo knock from Michael Bracewell of 21 runs from 10 balls propelled Zalmi to 173/7.

For Lahore Qalandars, Shaheen Shah Afridi was the star of the show picking up 3 wickets for 22 runs. Mustafizur Rahman took 2 wickets for 30 runs. Ubaid Shah and Usama Mir picked up a wicket each.

When Lahore Qalandars came in pursuit of the 174-run target, they lost Mohammad Naeem off Shoriful Islam. Fakhar Zaman and Abdullah Shafique batted well together but Nahid Rana cut Shafique's stay short as he pulled one to deep square leg.

Qalandars' quagmire continued to increase as they lost Fakhar Zaman (21) off Bracewell after the powerplay. Bracewell wrecked havoc removing Haseebullah Khan (3) and Sikandar Raza (14).

Peshawar Zalmi completely derailed the Qalandars' middle order and Sufiyan Muqeem gave the finishing touch. He got the wicket of Asif Ali (0), Shaheen Shah Afridi (5) and Ubaid Shah (4) and that reduced Qalandars to 75/9. The defeat could've been a lot more embarrassing had Dunith Wellalage not stepped in.

He added 22 runs with Mustafizur Rahman for the final wicket and scored 20 off 24. Aamir Jamal dismissed him and that marked the end of Qalandars innings as they got bowled out for just 97. Michael Bracewell and Sufiyan Muqeem were the wreckers-in-chief as they both picked up 3 wickets each. Nahid Rana took 2 wickets for 15. Shoriful Islam and Aamir Jamal took one wicket each.
