Peshawar Zalmi name English pacer Mills as their post-auction direct signing
Peshawar Zalmi have directly signed English pacer Tymal Mills for the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) season. Although the franchise did not disclose the signing fee, Mills, who entered the auction with a base price of PKR 22 million, went unsold at the PSL 11 auction on February 11.
Mills’ PSL experience
The 33-year-old pacer is a seasoned PSL campaigner, having represented four teams, including Quetta Gladiators, Karachi Kings, Peshawar Zalmi, and Islamabad United, across six seasons. He was part of United’s victory run in PSL 2024 and was retained for the next year. Additionally, he has already represented Zalmi, playing five games for the franchise in the third edition of the league.
Have Zalmi overcome their bowling problems?
Zalmi seemed light on fast bowling options after the auction. However, they have since signed two pacers, including Shahnawaz Dahani, in addition to Mills. With the Englishman becoming Zalmi’s seventh overseas signing, the franchise has now exhausted its quota of foreign players. Overall, the squad size has increased to 19, one short of the 20-player limit permitted by the PCB.
Peshawar Zalmi squad for PSL 11:
Babar Azam, Sufiyan Muqeem, Abdul Samad, Ali Raza, Aaron Hardie, Aamir Jamal, Mohammad Haris, Khalid Usman, Abdul Subhan, James Vince, Michael Bracewell, Kusal Mendis, Iftikhar Ahmed, Nahid Rana, Mirza Tahir Baig and Tymal Mills.
