Pakistan pacer features in the BBL Team of the Tournament
Haris Rauf is the only Pakistani to make it to the Big Bash League (BBL) Team of the Tournament. Rauf, who represented Melbourne Stars, has had a spectacular season as he took 20 wickets in eleven games. Currently, he is the leading wicket-getter in the league, though Sydney Sixers’ Jack Edwards, who is just three wickets away and has at least one more game left, can overtake him by the time the tournament finishes.
Haris has been a regular in the BBL, having played five seasons of the league - all for the Stars. While his wicket tally stood out this season, he was a tad expensive with the ball, leaking runs at an economy of 8.23, his highest in any BBL season in which he has bowled at least 100 deliveries.
Barring him, none of the other Pakistan stars managed to do anything noteworthy this season. Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan had a dismal season with the bat, while Shadab Khan and Shaheen Shah Afridi left their respective sides early on in the tournament for varying reasons. The late addition of Zaman Khan produced some moments of brilliance, but his stay was too short to draw any meaningful conclusions.
