Pak vs Ban Highlights, 2nd ODI: Pakistan Beat Bangladesh by 128 Runs (DLS) in Rain-Shortened Match

Pakistan leveled the series with a strong 128-run victory in this rain-affected match by virtue of the DLS method. Pakistan faced a minor struggle with the bat in the last part of the innings, but the bowlers delivered a great performance. Taking early wickets with the new ball and good spin bowling by Maaz Sadaqat helped Pakistan bowl Bangladesh out for just 114 runs, the same runs that Pakistan scored in the first match.

Pakistan Level Series with Dominant 128-Run DLS Victory Over Bangladesh in Rain-Hit 2nd ODI

Earlier in the game, Bangladesh had won the toss and opted to bowl first again. The openers, Sahibzada Farhan and Maaz Sadaqat, gave Pakistan a splendid start. They added 103 runs in 13 overs before Sadaqat lost his wicket for 75.

Farhan fell soon after for 31. Shamyl Hussain failed again with the bat, scoring just 6 runs off 22 balls. Mohammad Rizwan and Salman Ali Agha steadied the ship with a fine 109-run stand for the fourth wicket.

Agha was dismissed in a controversial manner as Mehidy Hasan Miraz ran him out at the non-striker’s end for 64. That dismissal triggered a collapse as Pakistan were bowled out for 274. They were 231 for 3 at one stage. Rishad Hossain picked up three wickets and Mehidy Hasan Miraz got two. Taskin Ahmed, Nahid Rana and Mustafizur Rahman all chipped in with a wicket apiece.

In reply, Bangladesh were rocked early by the Pakistan new ball bowlers. Shaheen Shah Afridi got two wickets and Mohammad Wasim Jnr got one to push Bangladesh on the backfoot as the hosts were 15/3 inside the first five overs.

The umpires took the players off the field due to lightning at the venue in the seventh over of the run chase. A heavy shower followed, along with hailstones, keeping the players off the field for over two hours.

The revised target for Bangladesh was 243 in 32 overs. Litton Das and Towhid Hridoy did give some hope to the hosts but with wickets falling at regular intervals, Bangladesh were bowled out for 114. Haris Rauf and Maaz Sadaqat picked up three wickets each. Shaheen Afridi got two wickets, Mohammad Wasim Jnr and Faheem Ashraf got one apiece.
