He played intelligent and focused on building a solid innings, proving he can handle the important moments and come through with some impressive plays.
His amazing performance was extremely impressive, helping the team and showing everyone he's about more than just putting on a show.
A Crucial Partnership with Washington Sundar
When the team really needed some heroes, Nitish Kumar Reddy and Washington Sundar came through. India's batting lineup was not doing very well after Pant and Jadeja were sent back quickly, but then, these two got together for the eighth wicket and made a vitally important partnership that kept India's hopes alive.
The two players were very smart and informed regarding taking risks and moving around the pitch, and they did it by being intelligent and informed when they hit the ball. When they passed 100 runs together, they were really getting closer to Australia's score from the first time they batted.
The Australian bowlers tried several different strategies but they just couldn't split up the duo. To keep India's dreams alive, Sundar and Reddy have to obtain a lot more. They're working hard but they're not pausing because they know they have to keep the partnerships strong.
