Newly auctioned Rawalpindi retain Mohammad Rizwan ahead of auction

Rawalpindi, sold at the team auction on February 9, have revealed their retentions for the upcoming season, less than 12 hours out from the player auction set to take place in Lahore.
Rawalpindi allowed to retain four players
Rawalpindi, sold for a whopping PKR 2.45 billion, the most expensive among all PSL franchises, were given a 24-hour window to retain up to four players, one in each category: Platinum, Diamond, Gold, and Silver.
The newly auctioned franchise retained Mohammad Rizwan as their Platinum pick for PKR 56 million. Rizwan was earlier released by the now-defunct Multan Sultans along with all their previous season players. His Multan teammate, Yasir Khan, is also among the retentions, as the young batter was picked in the Silver category for PKR 6 million.
Billings, Zaman shift allegiances
Sam Billings, who was part of Lahore Qalandars last season, will also be part of Rawalpindi this season, as he joins the franchise in the Diamond category. Rawalpindi sealed a deal worth PKR 30.8 million with Billings, as he joins Sikandar Raza and Andries Gous as the third foreign player among the retentions.
Another former Lahore Qalandars player, Zaman Khan, has been roped in by Rawalpindi in the Gold category for PKR 11.2 million. Zaman was among Lahore’s Gold picks as well.
