KL Rahul reveals the inspiration behind his unique celebration: It’s a tribute to one of his favorite movies
KL Rahul shared the meaning behind his special celebration after Delhi Capitals' win over Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Thursday, April 8. After hitting the winning six, Rahul made a circle on the ground and firmly stamped his bat in the middle of it. He later said the move was inspired by one of his favourite movies.
After the match, the batter shared the story behind his celebration. He said it was inspired by one of his favourite movies, Kantara. Rahul explained that he wanted to show everyone that this was his ground, the place where he grew up playing cricket. He felt no one knew how to play at the Chinnaswamy Stadium better than him.
"This is a special place for me. That celebration was from one of my favourite movies, Kantara. So, ya, just a tiny reminder that this ground, this turf, this home is where I have grown up and that this is mine," KL Rahul said after the match.

After the match, Rahul looked happy and full of confidence following his brilliant 93-run innings, one of his finest in the IPL. He called Chinnaswamy Stadium his home and said he just wanted to go out there and play with full aggression.
"This is my ground, this is my home. I know this better than anybody else," KL Rahul said at the post-match interview.
"I knew what my shots are. Just wanted to get off to a good start, be aggressive initially and assess it from there. If I was trying to hit a big six, I knew what pockets to target," he added.
A Selfless Star Leading from the Front
Rahul has truly stepped up this IPL season. After missing the first match to be with his family for the birth of his child, he’s come back strong with two match-winning knocks in just three games. In the past, people often pointed out that he struggled to play big shots when needed. But this time, Rahul has clearly changed his approach. He’s playing selflessly, doing what the team needs, even batting in the middle order, something very different from previous seasons. And it’s working really well for him and the team.
