Kapil Dev Advises Kohli and Sharma to Seek Guidance from Gavaskar and Dravid

In the wake of recent batting struggles, cricket legend Kapil Dev has offered words of wisdom to Indian cricket stalwarts Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Both players have faced challenges in rediscovering their form, particularly during the Test series against New Zealand and Australia, where their performances fell short of expectations.

Kapil Dev Advises Kohli and Sharma to Seek Guidance from Gavaskar and Dravid

Kapil Dev, known for his all-round prowess, suggested that Kohli and Sharma engage in discussions with iconic Indian batsmen Sunil Gavaskar and Rahul Dravid. He also recommended revisiting footage of their past standout innings to regain confidence and finesse in their gameplay.

Speaking on Cricket Adda, Kapil Dev remarked, "When batters are out of form, numerous issues arise. The best remedy is to converse with players who share a similar mindset and technique. Analyzing videos of your peak performances can be enlightening. Although you can't revert to being a 22 or 25-year-old Kohli or Rohit, revisiting your finest moments on the field can be beneficial."

He emphasized the role of confidence in cricket, asserting that a return to form is within reach for both players with the right guidance. "Cricket is about confidence, but that doesn't mean they can't return to form. They need to talk to Sunil Gavaskar and Rahul Dravid," Kapil Dev added.

In a recent One Day International (ODI) against England at the Barabati Stadium, Rohit Sharma showcased glimpses of his potential by scoring an impressive 119 runs off 90 balls, leading India to a four-wicket victory. His innings included 12 boundaries and seven sixes, highlighting his ability to dominate the opposition.

Conversely, Virat Kohli's performance in the same match was less fruitful, as he was dismissed by Adil Rashid without making a significant impact. With only one match left before the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, the pressure is mounting on Kohli to find his rhythm and contribute substantially to the team's efforts.

The advice from Kapil Dev, a revered figure in cricket, underscores the importance of mentorship and the psychological aspects of the game. As Kohli and Sharma look to navigate their current challenges, the insights from seasoned legends like Gavaskar and Dravid could prove pivotal in their journey back to form.
