IPL 2026 Mini Auction: TV Channels & Streaming Guide for Australia, South Africa and UK Fans to Watch Live Auction
The auction for the 2026 Indian Premier League is all set to take place on December 16 at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi. Renowned art collector and auctioneer Mallika Sagar, who recently conducted the mega auction for the Women's Premier League 2026, will be conducting the grand event. The upcoming auction will be third one to not be held in India.
A total of 359 players have been shortlisted out of the 1355 listed names. Out of the 359, 244 are Indian and 115 are overseas. A total of 40 players have set their base price at the maximum limit of INR 2 crore. Only two of those 40 Indians are Venkatesh Iyer and Ravi Bishnoi.
A total of 77 slots are available to be filled with as many as 31 being for overseas players. Kolkata Knight Riders will have the maximum available slots 13 slots left in their squad. They are seconded by Sunrisers Hyderabad with 10 to their name.
Names like Devon Conway, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Sarfaraz Khan, David Miller and Prithvi Shaw will be there for the franchises to go after in the initial round. Many uncapped players performing well in the domestic circuit, like Jammu & Kashmir's Auqib Nabi, Rajasthan's Ashok Sharma and Uttar Pradesh's Prashant Veer, are also part of the auction.
The franchise can attain a maximum squad size of 25 players. The overseas player cap has been set to eight players. The minimum size that a squad has to be is that of 18 players. The auction is set to get underway, with a set of capped batters.
