IPL 2026 Auction: CSK Probable Targets for Middle-Order Batters, Spinners, and Pacers
CSK had one of their worst campaigns in IPL 2025, finishing at the bottom of the points table, which was for the first time in the history of this tournament. The five-time champions would be desperate to bounce back strongly and rebuild a squad that can be able to challenge for the title again in the upcoming season.
Ahead of the IPL 2026 mini-auction scheduled for December 16, CSK have already made a big move by trading in Sanju Samson from the Rajasthan Royals. With Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ayush Mhatre, Samson, and Urvil Patel forming the top order, CSK look pretty settled at the top. The other departments, though, need strengthening for a well-settled and competitive unit.
Livingstone is a big hitter with over 1,000 IPL runs. This would be an advantage for Brevis with experienced player. Bracewell had a very few games with RCB in 2023, but he got valuable international cricket experience subsequently. This would be a good pickup for the team to fill the role of Ravindra Jadeja, who is traded to RR along with Sam Curran.
Spin is always an added advantage for CSK in the Chepauk ground. However, with Noor Ahmed as their main spinner, they would like to have another one as well. Akeal Hosein could be that second spinner for them since he is a reliable presence in T20 cricket. Ravi Bishnoi is another good option with 72 IPL wicket-taking abilities. He could make a difference with his leg spin attack in the middle overs.
From the point of view of Pace bowling ,CSK can go for Matt Henry, who will add more pace to their bowling attack. One of the best alternatives for CSK could be the Indian bowler Auqib Nabi. CSK is already having a good bowling attack, and it can become even better with such players.
