Punjab Kings secured a dominant win over Lucknow Super Giants by eight wickets on Tuesday (April 1) in IPL 2025. Chasing 172 runs, Punjab comfortably reached the target in the 17th over at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow, earning their second victory of the season.
There have been some good performances from both batters and bowlers, playing crucial roles in their teams' wins. Let's take a look at the current Orange Cap and Purple Cap holders in IPL 2025 after the LSG vs PBKS match.

Nicholas Pooran leads the Orange Cap race in IPL 2025 with 189 runs after scoring 44 against Punjab Kings on April 1. PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer is second with 157 runs in two matches, including a 97* against GT. Sai Sudharsan (137), Travis Head (136), and Mitchell Marsh (124) follow next. Marsh missed a chance to move up after getting out for a duck.

Purple Cap standings
Arshdeep Singh has five wickets in IPL 2025 but is not in the top five for most wickets. Kuldeep Yadav is in fifth place with the same number of wickets as Arshdeep but a better economy rate.
Chennai Super Kings’ Noor Ahmed still leads the wicket-takers’ chart of IPL 2025 with nine wickets. DC’s Mitchell Starc follows him next with eight wickets to his name. CSK’s left-arm Khaleel Ahmed is placed third with six wickets. Despite not taking a single wicket in the LSG vs PBKS game, Shardul Thakur maintained his spot in the top five with six scalps.
