IPL 2025 Points Table: Updated Team Ranking, Standings, and Net Run Rate After MI vs LSG
The Lucknow Super Giants defeated the Mumbai Indians by 12 runs in Lucknow on Friday, registering their second win of the IPL 2025 campaign. With that triumph, MI slips to seventh spot while LSG climbs to sixth. Sunrisers Hyderabad remains at the foot of the standings, while Punjab Kings continue to lead the table.
In a remarkable bowling performance, Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya secured his maiden five-wicket haul in Twenty20 cricket; however, the Lucknow Super Giants managed to post 203 for 8, powered by brilliant half-centuries from Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram. After the home side’s strong start, LSG’s momentum was halted as Pandya returned exceptional figures of 5/36, dismissing Markram (53 off 38 balls), Nicholas Pooran (12), Rishabh Pant (2), David Miller (27) and Akash Deep (0). Opener Marsh, scoring his third fifty in four matches, gave LSG a flying start. He smashed nine boundaries and two sixes to notch up 60 off just 31 deliveries.
Dhir and Suryakumar Stabilize Innings After Early Collapse
MI were without Rohit Sharma due to a knee injury, and in his absence, Will Jacks and Ryan Rickelton opened the innings. However, both failed to provide a solid start and were dismissed by the third over. Following their departure, Naman Dhir and Suryakumar Yadav built a vital 69-run stand, which was eventually broken by Digvesh Singh Rathi. Dhir departed after a brisk 46 off 26 deliveries featuring 4 fours and 3 sixes.
Suryakumar Yadav then played a smooth 67 from 43 balls, while Tilak Varma was forced to retire hurt. At this point, LSG was able to push the screws in and got the chase down to a point where MI needed 22 runs in the last over. Even though Hardik played a late cameo of 28 off 16 balls, they could get only 9 runs in the last over and lost by 12 runs.
