IPL 2025 Points Table: Updated Team Ranking, Standings, and Net Run Rate After CSK vs LSG Match
The Chennai Super Kings defeated the Lucknow Super Giants in a hard-fought clash to end their five-match losing streak. Despite the close win, the team's inferior run rate compared to its rivals kept them rooted to the bottom of the table. Even with the loss, Lucknow remained in fourth position. The Delhi Capitals suffered their first defeat of the IPL 2025 campaign at the hands of the Mumbai Indians faltering in what seemed to be a manageable chase despite a brilliant fightback from Karun Nair.
Skipper Rishabh Pant finally found his rhythm scoring 63 off 49 balls, as LSG posted a competitive total of 166/7 in their allotted 20 overs. Abdul Samad (20 off 11), Ayush Badoni (22 off 17) and Mitchell Marsh (30 off 25) all chipped in with valuable contributions. Anshul Kamboj (1/20 in 3 overs) and Noor Ahmad (0/13) delivered economical spells for CSK, Ravindra Jadeja (2/24 in 3 overs) and Matheesha Pathirana (2/45) picked up key wickets.
CSK got off to a flying start in their chase of 167, thanks to a brisk 27 off 19 balls from debutant Shaik Rasheed, who struck six boundaries and added 52 runs with Rachin Ravindra. Avesh Khan broke the stand, and Ravi Bishnoi followed up with key wickets of Rahul Tripathi and Ravindra Jadeja. But Shivam Dube anchored the innings with an unbeaten 43 off 37, while MS Dhoni chipped in with a quickfire 26 off 11. Dube sealed the win with three balls to spare ending CSK’s five-match losing streak.
