IPL 2025 Playoff Qualification Scenarios: Who’s In, Who’s Out
As the IPL 2025 league stage nears its climax, the playoff race is intensifying. Gujarat Titans and Delhi Capitals lead with 12 points each, almost sealing their qualification. RCB, MI, PBKS, and LSG remain in strong contention with 10 points, though LSG’s negative Net Run Rate could be costly. While KKR needs a winning streak to survive. Rajasthan Royals, SRH, and defending champions CSK sit at the bottom with just 4 points each, needing miracles to qualify. With every match now a virtual knockout, the race for the top four is wide open.
IPL 2025 features ten teams that are divided into two groups, each comprising five teams. Each team will play 14 matches. They will face four teams from their group and one team from the other group twice during the league stage. However, they will meet the remaining four teams (from the other group) just once during this phase.

Team-by-Team Qualification Scenarios
Gujarat Titans (GT): With 6 wins already, GT needs 2 more from their last 6 matches to seal a spot in the playoffs.
Delhi Capitals (DC): DC is level with GT on points and has been consistent. They need 2 more wins.
Mumbai Indians (MI): MI have picked up form, and their NRR is looking good. They’ll need to keep the momentum going to stay in the top 4.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB): RCB has 10 points and just needs a few more wins. Their fixtures are tricky, but they’ve got a real shot at the top two.
Punjab Kings (PBKS): PBKS have shown some real fight. If they can tighten their batting and win three more, they’ll be right there.
Lucknow Super Giants (LSG): LSG have been in some thrillers but need to close games better. They’re still in the race, but there’s little room for error now.
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR): KKR have some big wins but haven’t found consistency. They’ll need almost a perfect run from here.
Rajasthan Royals (RR): Just two wins so far and poor NRR, RR will need to win everything and hope for a lot of help from other results.
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH): With just two wins and the worst NRR in the league, SRH need a miracle. One more loss and they’re likely out.
Chennai Super Kings (CSK): Only two wins so far and a poor NRR. CSK will need to win all their remaining games and cross their fingers for other results.
