IPL 2025: KKR vs LSG Match on April 6 Likely to Be Rescheduled Due to Security Issues

The Atytytypril 6 IPL 2025 clash between Kolkata Knight Riders and Lucknow Super Giants might be rescheduled, as the CAB has requested the BCCI to shift the match due to its overlap with Ram Navami, according to Sportstar. The bigger concern is that Kolkata Police and local authorities may not be able to ensure /sufficient security for the game.

“We had extensive discussions with the authorities and the police, where they clearly stated that providing adequate security wouldn’t be feasible due to the festivities, even though it’s a day fixture. We have now requested the BCCI for a reschedule, and hopefully, we will have clarity in the next couple of days,” CAB president Snehasish Ganguly told Sportstar.

However, the BCCI has indicated that rescheduling the match might not be feasible after all. Instead, the game could potentially be shifted to a different venue. “We have received a formal request from the CAB and are currently exploring the possibilities,” a BCCI source said.

A similar rescheduling took place last year when a KKR home match clashed with the festival. “The demand for tickets will be high for this match, and we’re hopeful of finding a solution as soon as possible,” the source said. Meanwhile, both KKR and LSG will have new captains Ajinkya Rahane will lead the Kolkata-based team, and Rishabh Pant will helm the Lucknow franchise.

As always, a lot is on the line for both sides. If the match is shifted away from Kolkata, it could put the home team at a disadvantage, especially since each team gets to play seven matches at home.
